The Beach

Last week, my family and I went to a beach here with a new team who just arrived a few weeks ago. There were some fishermen pulling in their nets, so we went over there to watch. After they pulled the nets in, we saw about 500 fish in the nets when they pulled them up, including a sea snake, two small sting  rays, and a puffer-fish! It was fun seeing the fishermen pulling in their nets.

Almost Christmas!

It's almost Christmas! Only 33 more days (I think. Christmas is on the 26th, right?)! It's surprising that it's so soon. It seems that last Christmas was only a few months ago! Well, time flies when you're having fun!

My Jaw

Yesterday I was in our kitchen just after Lily had mopped, and I slipped on the water and hit the side of my jaw on a chair. I couldn't chew for a few hours after that, but later I could. It's much better now, although it still hurts to touch it.

Our (temporary) Rabbit

A few days ago, a Finnish family that we know told us that they were going to Finland for a few months, and they asked us to look after their rabbit while they were gone. I can't post a picture of it, since our camera's not working, so I'll try and describe it. He is white and brown (mostly white, though), and is pretty big for a rabbit. Bye!

My Poem

Mauritania, Land of....... Sandy, golden sand dunes, silently stretching out Old, bumpy roads, hardly traveled Tall, leaning palm trees, swaying in the wind Beautiful, diverse birds, musically singing  Giant, sudden sandstorms, forcing everyone inside   Mauritania, Land of... Generous, friendly people, always neighborly Proud, peaceful people, drinking tea together   Mauritania, dusty, endless Mauritania, my home Yan Price, Grade 6
