Going to the Beach!

On Saturday, a new family that just arrived the Sunday before came to our house for dinner. Today we're going to the beach with them! I'm looking forward to it. The water is normally cold at this time of year, but it's warmer than in December or January! I hope it'll be fun!

The Last Light, Chapter Three

Chapter Three   Before the morning sun had risen the party members began to stir. In the weak morning light, the young ladies began their morning routines. Areena began to brush through her long hair before braiding it back into the usual braid, and meanwhile, Melody attempted to tame her stubborn curly hair into a decent braid, but after battling for a while she decided a ponytail would do. As they lit the morning fire for warm porridge, the morning light grew stronger and awakened the rest of the party. With a quick greeting Landon dashed off to wash his face in the river. The rest gathered around the fire to receive their breakfast. Killian remarked,” Wow I did not know that girls outside of our village could change their hair color overnight.” At this Areena yanked her long hair over her shoulder and into view, and Melody tackled her pack and frantically searched for her hand-held mirror. Both girls trembled  and glared at the guys, but at this Marcilliou...

The Last Light, Chapter Two

Chapter Two   The next day they had arrived at the forest where they would leave the cart and trek through the forest. As the group marched on, Landan slowly concocted his schemes, for he loved nothing more than a good prank. During their short time together he observed many things that peaked his interest. Melody was quite aware of her hair, in fact she took great pains to keep it tidy, regardless of where and when they went. Areena, however was quite the opposite. She deliberately avoided the spotlight, and preferred practicality above luxury. Among the guys he knew that Marcillious was obsessed with maintaining order among all his belongings and his clothes were always impeccable, solid, and neutrally colored. Even the brave and calm Killion took great lengths to keep at least 2 meters between him and frogs. One hour before sunset the group found their campground, a small open spot between all the tall, whispering trees. Killion quickly instructed Areena to...

Sore Thumb!

Yesterday when I went to soccer, somebody kicked the ball really hard at my hand, and it hit my thumb.       It got a little better after I came home, but during the night it started hurting again. I can hardly bend it now without it hurting. I hope it gets better soon!

Hope and Fliss

As I told you in another post, I am going to a soccer club. Until last week, I did it with the other boys there, but now Hope and Fliss are playing too! On Saturday we even went to the Olympic stadium!!  I've only gone once before, and this was the first time that Hope and Fliss have played there (they came to watch me when I played there last time). It was fun, although for some reason, they had it at 7:00 a.m. !!!!!

The Last Light, Chapter One

Chapter One      One day, fifty years after the destruction of Athenbar, two sisters walked through the gates of Andar. They did not know why they were there, but they knew that their lives were about to be changed. Areena, a tall brunette had been adopted by an old ranger, and could not remember her parents, as they had been killed in the after-terrors of Roland's attack. Melody, a redhead, was also adopted by that same man, after her family was destroyed by the first attack on Athenbar. When they had reached the center of the town, they stopped, not knowing what to do next. They had been given instructions to go to the center of the town, and wait for someone to approach them, to give them further instructions. Suddenly a scream ran out from behind them. Five soldiers, clothed in black were attacking three young men, who were obviously unprepared. Neither Areena or Melody said a word, but raced towards them, pulling out their weapons. Melody favored two small blad...

The Last Light, by Lily Price

The Last Light     Evil. Fire. Death. Enshrouded in these menacing forces the dark wizard descended down on Athenbar, with darkness stretching out like the claws of an eagle. Soon Roland the Shadow Master, Roland the Ruthless' evil had begun to spread; crawling into every crack and crevice. He offered a choice to those who survived his attack, to join him as his allies or to die. Much of the kingdom joined, some longing for power, some for wealth, some for fear, but there were some that day, though few in number, that stayed true to the light. Those people fled to the refuge of the woods. There, people that had survived, or hidden on that fateful day, made their way to the hiding place. Over time, they created a kingdom of light, a refuge for the just, hidden from the wizard's sight. They established the city kingdom of Andar, the Last Light of the kingdom that had once been the greatest in that world. ...
