Wild West Quest, Chapter Four

Chapter Four Tracker was exited. That could only mean one thing. They were getting close. As the day wore on, he got even more exited. Arthur knew they were getting close. Suddenly he saw a cabin, and quickly hid, as he saw the robber coming out of it. Arthur hoped that the robber wouldn't see him, but still he shouldered his rifle. Luckily, the robber had only come out to get a drink of water, and didn't go within three yards of him. When the robber was gone, Arthur breathed a sigh of relief. About a hour later, he heard snoring. He peered into a window and saw the robber had gone to sleep. Arthur also saw the necklace that had been stolen. He snuck into the cabin and tried to go into the mans room, but it was locked, so he got his axe and chopped the lock of. He crept into the room and stole the necklace back. He stole out of the room and outside. Once he was safely out of sight, he stood up. His mission was completed!     The end

Wild West Quest, Chapter Three

Chapter Three     Arthur didn't want to stop when it became dark, but he knew he had to. He lit a fire to keep the wild cats away, then went hunting. He shot a roadrunner and a javelina (wild pig). He fed his pets, and then ate his own share of the meat. Then he went to sleep. When he woke up, it was still a hour til dawn, but he woke Tracker and Flash up, then started following the robber again. (PS. This chapter is short because my older sister needs to do her math on this computer)

Wild West Quest, Chapter Two

Chapter Two Arthur felt lucky that he had Tracker to show him which way to go, as he didn't know a thing about tracking. When it became dark he sent Flash and Tracker to go hunting, and they came back with a jackrabbit and a bighorn sheep. He coked and ate the meat, and then me went to bed, using a cougar skin as a blanket. In the morning he got up, ate a quick breakfast of bighorn sheep meat, and set of, Tracker leading the way as usual. At noon he went hunting and managed to get a bobcat. When he was done eating, he started following the robber again (actually, Tracker followed the robber and Arthur followed Tracker).

Wild West Quest, Chapter One

Chapter One   Arthur lived in the Sonoran Desert. His parents were to poor to look after him when he was born, so they gave him to an orphanage, hoping that when they were older they could come back and keep him. Now that he was thirteen, and old enough to take care of himself, the orphanage wouldn't keep him, so he had to live in the desert. Luckily, he had done a few jobs for the people who ran the orphanage, and had eared enough money to buy a pocketknife, which he used to hunt small animals, such as prairie dogs and cottontail rabbits, until he had enough skins to make a small tent next to a river, which was only about a mile away from a small town. After that, he sometimes traded animal skins and meat for things such as a rifle, flint and steel, bullets, gunpowder and an axe. He even tamed a coyote and a prairie falcon, a close relative of the peregrine falcon. But one afternoon, as he was trading in the village, he saw a man stealing a valuable diamond necklace. When he t...

Ninja Journey, Chapter Five

Chapter Five The Ninjas traveled back to the Ninja camp, where they were rewarded with a gold medal each, and they also were promoted to generals, except Luke, who had to train as a Ninja for a few more weeks. And when the Wizard master retired, Peter became the new one, and was one of the greatest Wizard masters ever. The End

Ninja Journey, Chapter Four

Chapter Four They traveled for about an hour, then stopped and went to look for food. Luke found some sugarcane growing by a stream, so he stopped and picked some. Also, Michael managed to shoot a red panda, and John found a apple tree covered with apples. They brought their finds to Peter, who they had left to guard the camp. He cooked the meat, and then striped the tough outside of the sugarcane, then cooked the inside to make sugar, then he roasted the apples with it. After that, they traveled until about 9:00. Peter, who was tracking, pointed to the tracks. "They're close. Only about an hour ahead of us," he said. "If they keep on traveling we should catch up to them in about two hours." A while later, they all heard something ahead of them. They crept up on whatever it was, and saw that it was a group of about twenty samurai, all carrying swords. Suddenly, the Samurai leader came out of a tent, carrying his sword and wearing the Wizard master's cro...

Ninja Journey, Chapter Three

Chapter Three The next day, the ninjas started to teach Luke. At first they thought it would be hard, but Luke was a quick learner, and as he was so good with a sword he didn't need to be taught any fancy tricks. After they were done teaching Luke for the day, they broke camp and were on their way again. Everything went well for a few days, until one night four days after they had found Luke, they were attacked by some bandits. They had just fallen asleep when a man woke Peter, Michael and Luke up. They saw that another man had grabbed John and had his sword pressed to his neck. They reached for their swords, only to find them stolen by another man, who had them in his belt. Do as we say or your friend dies! Said the first man. What do you want? Asked Michael. From now on you will be our servants, answered the man. Never! Shouted Peter, kicking him as hard as he could in the stomach. The man fall down, unconscious. Luke did the same to the one that had captured John, and Mich...

Ninja Journey, Chapter Two

Chapter  Two At about midday they stopped at a village. The villagers said that the samurai had passed through and taken all their food, so the Ninjas gave all of their supplies, assuring the villagers that they could hunt their own food. After that, Peter, Michael and John traveled the rest of the day, stopping only when it became dark. John went to get firewood, while Peter and Michael made the beds. John came back, carrying firewood and a racoon. "I managed to catch this. We can eat it for dinner," he said. "Good job, John!" Michael said. They finished their dinner and Michael and John went to bed, leaving Peter to keep guard. Sometime during the night Peter saw some bushes rustling. He woke John and Michael up, whispering to them what he had seen. They crept up on it, and then pounced. "Got you! "Peter shouted. He had pined a kicking, struggling man carrying a sword to a tree. "Let me go!" He screamed. "Not until you tell us what w...

Ninja Journey, Chapter One

Chapter one Peter and his friends, Michael and Jonathan, commonly known as John, were not ordinary people. They were ninjas, some of the bravest in the whole of Japan, and were often asked to go on important quests by the Wizard Master. Life was going along as normal, with no attacks from the evil Samurai, until one day the crown that gave the Wizard master his powers disappeared! Naturally, all the ninjas knew that the Samurai were the robbers, and Peter and his friends were chosen to recover the crown. They set off, carrying their weapons (Peter, two swords strapped in a cross on his back, Michael, a bow quiver full of arrows and a sword, John, two daggers and a sword), food and water, perfectly aware of the dangers that lay ahead of them.

Salisbury

My family and I lived in a town called Salisbury from when I was a baby to when I was four years old. Some of our friends live there. They are the boy that I rode 4 miles with, (In Bike Riding) his sister and parents. We visited them a few months ago. I wrote about the visit in Glad to be Back. There is a big mountain next to their house that we climbed. There is also another mountain a bit further away that we had a picnic on every Saturday when we lived there. There were also snakes, and farmers grew pomegranates, peanuts and millet. The Three tribes that live in Salisbury are the Moors, Fulani and Soninke. The tribe that lived in our neighborhood was the Fulani. The pictures below were taken in Salisbury. Mom & Dad My six year old sister, then two
