The Story of Derek, By Maria Price.

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Derek. He had spent the morning riding his bike, and he was very hungry. He had two dollars with him, so he decided to go to a fish and chips shop and buy some fish and chips. But by the time he got there, the shop was closed! By then Derek was so hungry, he felt that he couldn't  walk to the next shop. Just then, he saw a small shop and thought, "oh well, its better than nothing." So he went into the shop and asked the lady who owned the shop if she had any sausage rolls. She said, Its Friday, so most of the things are gone. I have two rolls, but they are moldy and old. But I could scrape the mold of and pop them in the microwave and they wont taste so bad. And Derek thought, "I am so hungry I'll just get the old rolls". So he ate them and said, that was delishes! Do you have any cookies? The lady said, I have one cookie. so she gave it to Derek. and he was about to eat it when he saw some black tubes coming out of the cookie. What are these? He asked. Flies, Said the lady. Flies! I cant eat flies! Said Derek. Of course you can, the lady answered. They taste just like chicken. Well, I'm so hungry, I'll just get them. Said Derek. That was okay, said Derek. I'm full now, but I'm thirsty. Do you have any juice? Yes, I do, Said the lady. She brought a glass of something that looked like some kind of juice. Derek drank it and asked her what kind of juice it was. Flower juice, fresh from my flower vase, she answered. Derek grabbed his stomach and groaned. ohh I fell sick! And he went outside and threw up. The end.

Galapagos Adventure, Introduction

Peter was going on a trip to the Galapagos islands (a group of islands about 2,600 miles away from America, famous for having many animals on it that only live there, such as the Galapagos tortoise and the Marine iguana). One night, he woke up in the midde of a storm, with his boat sinking! The boat didn't have any lifeboats, so Peter grabbed a gun, bullets, gunpowder and a bag of corn, threw a barrel overboard, dived in after it, and swam to one of the Galapagos islands that was nearby, resting on the barrel when he was tired. Unluckily, it was uninhabited (nobody lived on it), but he at least survived the storm. Two and a half years later, he lived in a large cave, had a pet Galapagos hawk (a large, brown hawk breed. The main predator of the Galapagos islands) called Flyer and owned a large cornfield. Galapagos Hawk

Going Sailing

Last holiday my family & I went sailing. First we got on a small boat, and then sailed to a bigger one, which we sailed on for about an hour. I got a weird feeling that I sometimes get on airplanes when the boat went over the waves. I hope we go again sometime!
