Chapter Two
John was happy. On the way back from the village, where he had got some sugarcane, he had killed an Amazon manatee, the biggest animal in the amazon, one of the biggest freshwater mammals, and a close relative of elephants. It was enough to feed him and King for a few weeks, as Mustache ate fruit, and the tapirs ate leaves, fruit, berries and green shoots. He roasted the meat over a fire, and hung it up on the wall next to his skins and other meats, to save it for later.
What an exciting story.
