Island Adventure, Chapter One

Joseph whistled for Alpha (I updated my last post and gave the dogs names). He trotted up to Joseph's side, wagging his tail. Joseph patted his head, and gave him a piece of houbara bustard (native canarian bird) meat. Then he called Splotch, who received the same treatment. Joseph then started walking to a nearby lake that was relitively close to the ocean, although there was a large cliff, much to steep for climbing. When he got to the lake he dove into it, his dogs following. He swam above the surfase of the lake until he got to the other side. When he got there, he took a deep breath and dunked his head underwater. Once he was under, he swam through an underwater tunnel, his only way to get to the ocean. After about two minuites of swimming underwater, his head popped up a few feet from the ocean shore, soon followed by Alpha and Splotch. Joseph called Stripe and Click (his dolphins), dragged a boat that was on the beach that he owned into the water and hitched Stripe and Click to it. Then he and his dogs went on a 19 mph boat ride (the top speed of a striped dolphin is 23 mph, but pulling a boat would slow it down a bit) with the dolphins pulling their boat. When they reached shore again, Joseph unhitched the dolphins, swam back to the lake and walked home.

Galapagos Adventure, Introduction

Peter was going on a trip to the Galapagos islands (a group of islands about 2,600 miles away from America, famous for having many animals on it that only live there, such as the Galapagos tortoise and the Marine iguana). One night, he woke up in the midde of a storm, with his boat sinking! The boat didn't have any lifeboats, so Peter grabbed a gun, bullets, gunpowder and a bag of corn, threw a barrel overboard, dived in after it, and swam to one of the Galapagos islands that was nearby, resting on the barrel when he was tired. Unluckily, it was uninhabited (nobody lived on it), but he at least survived the storm. Two and a half years later, he lived in a large cave, had a pet Galapagos hawk (a large, brown hawk breed. The main predator of the Galapagos islands) called Flyer and owned a large cornfield. Galapagos Hawk

Going Sailing

Last holiday my family & I went sailing. First we got on a small boat, and then sailed to a bigger one, which we sailed on for about an hour. I got a weird feeling that I sometimes get on airplanes when the boat went over the waves. I hope we go again sometime!
