The Last Light, Chapter Four

Chapter Four

While they were walking, Killion noticed a gradually increasing stench. He looked around for the item which caused it, but before he could see it his cloak erupted into flames which stank of sulfur and incense. He threw it on the ground, yelling, “Marcillious, put it out!”

Marcillious reached into his bag and came up with a small box of fairy dust, and a bottle of itching powder. On his next grab he came up with a pink, ruffle covered shirt, which Melody snatched and held behind her back. In the chaos, Landan began sneaking backwards, but stood on a twig, at which everyone whirled around.

Melody reached for her two daggers, saying, “Any opposes for murdering this guy?” Areena grabbed her, and held her back, saying, “Unfortunately, we still need him, but do as you want, as long as his legs still work. I'm not carrying him the next fifty miles.”

“Stop!” yelled Marcillious, “I have a better idea. Instead of half killing him, let us make him a useful member of our party.” Landan looked relieved, until Marcillious turned to Killion, and said, “I know that Landan has a limited knowledge of fighting. Would you mind helping him gain such knowledge? Melody, I am sure you have things you need to be carried, such as your luggage and such.” During this, Landan's relieved face slowly became a perfect picture of terror. “Fine,” said Melody, “but he’d better start with the luggage carrying now!”

  1. Sulfur and incense must smell horrible together! Poor Landon. I am curious to see his fate.

Galapagos Adventure, Introduction

Peter was going on a trip to the Galapagos islands (a group of islands about 2,600 miles away from America, famous for having many animals on it that only live there, such as the Galapagos tortoise and the Marine iguana). One night, he woke up in the midde of a storm, with his boat sinking! The boat didn't have any lifeboats, so Peter grabbed a gun, bullets, gunpowder and a bag of corn, threw a barrel overboard, dived in after it, and swam to one of the Galapagos islands that was nearby, resting on the barrel when he was tired. Unluckily, it was uninhabited (nobody lived on it), but he at least survived the storm. Two and a half years later, he lived in a large cave, had a pet Galapagos hawk (a large, brown hawk breed. The main predator of the Galapagos islands) called Flyer and owned a large cornfield. Galapagos Hawk

Going Sailing

Last holiday my family & I went sailing. First we got on a small boat, and then sailed to a bigger one, which we sailed on for about an hour. I got a weird feeling that I sometimes get on airplanes when the boat went over the waves. I hope we go again sometime!
